botanical slimming The sun has been shining, the summer wardrobes are on display, BBQ smoke is filling the air, and everyone seems in great spirits.
I even managed to survive my day detox plan, having my final weigh-in on Tuesday night.
Turns out I lost a total of 13lbs and 8inches from my hips, waist and (sadly) my bust combined.
So I was delighted, especially since my sister's wedding (yes, another one of my younger sisters is getting married before me) is only three weeks away and I have a bridesmaid's dress to fit into.
I also had a lovely week at work hosting the Scottish Care Awards in the Glasgow Marriott Hotel on Friday night and then performing at the Andrea Kearney Ball in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Saturday night, alongside Deacon Blue front man Ricky Ross and actress Elaine C Smith.
I found myself star-struck being on the same bill as these Scottish icons and was again reminded of how lucky I am to call what I do 'a job'.
Watching Ricky perform some of his biggest hits live on a grand piano to a room of 400 guests was something I will cherish for a long time.
Last year I sang the National Anthem at the school's own Olympic Games in the Kelvin Hall and the boys and girls invited me back this year to dazzle me with their performance of Flower Of Scotland.
I then was set a challenge of becoming a human jukebox, with the children naming Scottish songs such as Wild Mountain Thyme, Caledonia and Donald, Where's Your Troosers and me having to sing a verse and chorus of each song.
I then finished off with a question-and-answer session, with the primary seven pupils asking me all about my 10 years since winning the Pop Idol TV talent programme.
I can't thank the pupils and staff enough for a fantastic morning and would like to congratulate everyone for making Annette Street School one of the loveliest and friendliest I have visited.
I am also delighted to say I will be performing at the Lochgreen House Hotel, Troon, on Saturday evening for the Ayrshire Hospice annual Summer Ball.
If the sun keeps shining I don't think there is anything that could spoil my mood - unless I manage to put every one of those 13lbs back on by the time the weekend is over.
Time to dig out that long-lost friend called willpower -
P I HAVE lived in Glasgow's South Side for nearly 13 years and thought I had discovered all of its hidden treasures until I stumbled upon a little gem in Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields, called Rhubarb.
This is a gorgeous restaurant, with the friendly staff serving everything from melon and crayfish cocktails to Mango Salsa and goat's cheese open sandwiches not forgetting my favourite traditional dish of haggis, neeps and tatties all washed down with the finest wines and a variety of other drinks on offer. .
