Planning Technician:

Essential Functions: Answers questions and provides information to the public
Participates in field land use surveys, research documents, compiles information, and conducts preliminary evaluation on zoning cases and planning studies.
Examples of Duties: UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION, Answers phone calls, provides information, takes messages, and routes calls Evaluates for completeness application files on zoning changes, variance requests or conditional use permits; reviews architectural or engineering site development plans, subdivision and minor plats to assist planners; and prepares reports. Researches and compiles information concerning zoning cases and planning studies from various sources, including aerial photos, census tract maps, land use and zoning maps, real estate maps, and other research data. Assists planners with research and neighborhood field surveys to determine zoning district classifications per tax block or lot, current land use of property, public facilities and organizations, and other zoning or neighborhood plan information. Answers questions, provides information and advises the public concerning zoning district regulations, the Comprehensive Plan, landscape ordinance, sign ordinance and department policies and procedures. Provides technical assistance and instruction to others on how to make an application with the Planning Commission or Boards of Zoning Adjustment for a zoning change, variance or a conditional use permit. Converts information into numerical codes, enters data into computer address and land use data base, and searches computer records to display or report information or to respond to inquiries for information contained within the data base. Reviews approved Planning Commission docket information, staff reports and zoning documents and makes corrections to land use information files, records and maps. Prepares slides, transparencies, maps, statistical charts and other graphic displays for public meetings and hearings. Participates in field land use surveys, posts zoning meeting signs, and operates a camera to photograph site locations
Collects statistical data, prepares reports regarding department activities and operations, and maintains departmental records and files. Performs related work.
Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Geography, Political Science, Regional Planning, Sociology, Urban Economics, Urban Planning or Related field.
Work Experience: One year of research; analytical; graphics; drafting; field surveying; zoning; urban and regional planning; or architectural, engineering or real estate technical or clerical experience.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Other Minimum Requirements: REGULATORY DIVISION Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.

Kennel Tech:

Jessamine County Fiscal Court is in need of a Kennel Tech for the Jessamine County Animal Shelter, and we offer competitive pay and excellent benefits packages. The Kennel Tech is responsible for proper shelter cleaning and maintenance, providing food and water to all animals as scheduled at the shelter, and assisting in the daily operations, including recognizing the need for veterinary care and/or treatment. Starting pay for Kennel Techs is $14.25 hourly.

Planning & Zoning Code Enforcement Officer:

Jessamine County Fiscal Court is in need of a Code Enforcement Officer. The Code Enforcement Officer oversees the planning, organization and coordinating of the day-to-day code enforcement of the county. Examples of job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Enforce any provisions of the zoning regulations, any subdivision regulations, any other land use control regulation, KRS or Fiscal Court ordinance, travel within the County and City of Wilmore to determine whether there is any violation of any ordinances, and investigate violations of an ordinance, in preparation for potential court action. Additionally, the Code Enforcement Officer should be ready to assist with any planning commission or board of adjustments in any matter concerning enforcement.

Director of Animal Control and Safety:

Jessamine County Fiscal Court is in need of a Director of Safety and Animal Care & Control. The Director of Safety and Animal Care & Control is responsible for providing safety awareness for the employees, contractors, and citizens and performs other safety related duties such as risk control and risk assessment for the Jessamine County Fiscal Court. Additionally, the Director of Safety and Animal Care & Control is responsible for the management, administration, budget and implementation of all programs, activities and operations for the Animal Care Shelter & Animal Control issues within the County. Other job examples include planning, developing, and directing the safety programs for the County. Interpreting and explaining safety policies and regulations to the management and employees. Maintaining records and reports of any incidents or accidents, which occur at the County. Overseeing the operations and day to day activities of the Jessamine County Animal Shelter and Jessamine County Animal Control. Maintaining statistical information pertaining to the Jessamine County Animal Shelter and Jessamine County Animal Control and reports findings to the Jessamine County Judge Executive and the Jessamine County Fiscal Court. Prepares and administers a yearly operating budget.

Light Equipment Operator/CDL:

Jessamine County Fiscal Court is in need of a Light Equipment Operator, and we offer competitive pay and excellent benefits packages. The Light Equipment Operator is responsible for operating light equipment and performing semi-skilled manual labor for the Jessamine County Road Department. This position does require a CDL license. Starting pay for the Light Equipment Operator is $17.24 to $19.83 hourly.

Road Laborer:

Fleet Maintenance Assistant:

Jessamine County Fiscal Court is in need of a Fleet Maintenance Assistant. The Fleet Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing journeyman level work involving the maintenance and repair of county owned automotive equipment and other pieces of county owned equipment. Preferred skills and qualifications are having considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques in repair of light and heavy automotive equipment and any other related equipment. Knowledge of the principals of gasoline and diesel engines and skills in the use and operation of tools and machinery used in automotive repair work desired. Starting pay for the Fleet Maintenance Assistant ranges from $18.58 to $24.23 hourly.

Deputy Jailer:

E911 Telecommunicator:

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):

Emergency Medical Services Paramedic:
